Book review

Book review: Liquid Cool: The Cyberpunk Detective Series. Book 1

While a fan of anything and everything in the sci-fi/ fantasy genre, Liquid Cool is my first cyberpunk story.  The book is written by Austin Dragon.

Liquid Cool Book Review

I loved the neo-noir, Sin City, flavor of the story and the writing is engaging. The book starts with chapters dedicated to one character, which gives the story a unique POV. The main character, Cruz, isn’t introduced until chapter six.  The earlier characters are then slowly brought into the main plot of the book.

Cover:  I give the cover 5 out of 5 stars. It’s excellent and really captures the taste of the story.

Ending:  I give the ending 4.5 stars out of 5. It does a good job of wrapping everything up.

Pet Peeves: Perhaps it’s my Kindle app, but there seems to be an extra space between paragraphs. No real biggie and didn’t take away from the story. Once I became used to it, I should add.

Overall: I give Liquid Cool 4 out 5 stars overall.

In ebook format, Liquid Cool, the first book in the series is available for free on Amazon at this time. It can also be found at Barnes &Nobles, Kobo, and iBooks.

About the author:

Austin Dragon is author of the After Eden Series, including the After Eden: Tek-Fall mini-series, the classic Sleepy Hollow Horrors, and the cyberpunk detective series, Liquid Cool. He is a native New Yorker, but has called Los Angeles, California home for the last twenty years. Words to describe him, in no particular order: U.S. Army, English teacher, one-time resident of Paris, political junkie, movie buff, Fortune 500 corporate recruiter, renaissance man, and dreamer.
